Fundraising Toolkit

This toolkit provides templates to help you advocate for your attendance and secure support from your community, workplace, educational institutions, organizations, friends, and family. We look forward to welcoming you to Creating Change 2026 in January!

Getting Started

  • Asking for support can feel daunting or even scary sometimes. But it’s important to remember that there are people on your side who want to help! Below are some tips to help get you started.
  • Identify potential avenues of support. Consider individuals, organizations, or institutions open to supporting your professional development and leadership growth.
  • Establish a reliable method for receiving financial contributions. Ensure your preferred platform (e.g., a dedicated fundraising platform, personal payment app) is set up and ready to accept donations before making requests.
  • Personalize your appeal. While templates can provide a starting point, infuse your unique voice and narrative. People are often more inclined to support individuals and their stories.
  • When seeking financial assistance, be precise. Clearly state the amount needed, its intended use, and the deadline for contributions. Transparency builds trust.
  • Always express gratitude to your supporters. This can include public acknowledgments and private, personalized messages.
  • Prioritize your safety and comfort. Share information only as you feel comfortable. If public posts are not preferred, utilize letters, emails, or private solicitations.
